While you don’t necessarily need to grow zucchinis together with other plants, it is still advisable since you can use your space more efficiently and also benefit from the positive effects good companion plants can have on the growth behavior and on the yields of your zucchinis.
Good companion plants loosen the soil, attract pollinators, deter pests, provide shade and improve the overall conditions for your zucchinis.
Yet, don’t expect that all plants have those beneficial effects on your zucchinis.
There are also plants you should never grow near zucchinis since they can have many negative effects on them.

What should you plant with Zucchini?
You should grow zucchini with peas, beans, onions, garlic, brassicas, thyme, rosemary, borage, dill, mint, lettuce, spinach, marjoram, marigolds or nasturtiums.
Avoid planting zucchinis with fennel, pumpkin, carrots, beets, melon, potatoes and corn.
